Kingston Timber Frame Pavilion Features
Heavy Timber Construction
Heavy timber construction offers a rustic, classic look that never goes out of style. The large, visible beams create a sense of grandeur and solidity that enhances the overall look of any outdoor space. The rich, natural textures and grains of the wood add warmth and charm, seamlessly blending with natural landscapes.
Handcrafted Joinery
The pavilion showcases traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, which not only ensures structural stability but also highlights the craftsmanship behind its design. This feature provides both beauty and functionality, adding to the overall charm and strength of the structure.
Natural Wood Finish
Warm, Inviting Look: The natural wood finish highlights the inherent beauty of the wood’s grain and texture, creating a warm, organic feel that blends seamlessly with outdoor settings. This natural appeal makes the pavilion feel more integrated with the environment, whether placed in a backyard, park, or commercial space.

Kingston Timber Frame Pavilion Foundation Information
The foundation is a critical component of any structure, including your pavilion. Here's a guide for both small and large pavilions, depending on your setup:
For Smaller Backyard Pavilions:
- Install Footers/Piers:
- Use the provided drawings to determine pier locations and specifications.
- For Paver Patios:
- Position the top of the footers just below the bottom of the paver stones.
- Post stand-offs are recommended to keep the posts elevated (see post standoffs for details).
- For Concrete Slabs with Footers:
- Option 1: Install the tops of the footers just beneath the slab surface.
- Option 2: Install the tops of the footers level with the slab surface (note that the tops of the footers will be visible).
- For New Paver Patios:
- It's recommended to install the pavilion first and then add the pavers afterward.
For Larger Pavilions:
- Install Footers/Piers:
- Follow the provided drawings for pier locations and specifications.
- For Concrete Slabs with Footers:
- Option 1: Install the tops of the footers level with the slab surface (tops will be visible).
- Option 2: Install the tops of the footers 4" below the finished patio surface.
- Use 4" Post Stand-offs (see post standoffs for details).
- Pour the slab after the pavilion has been installed.
Installing Footers/Piers for Smaller Pavilions with Existing Paver Patios:
- Remove a section of pavers, about 24-30" in diameter, at each post location.
- Install the piers so their tops are about 1" below the paver level.
- This allows for a small sand layer to be added on top of the footer for easy paver reinstallation.
- The tops of the piers don't need to be perfectly level.
- Install post stand-offs (see post standoffs for details).
- Erect the pavilion structure.
- Reinstall the pavers, cutting and fitting them around the posts.
Anchoring the Structure to Concrete Piers:
To anchor the pavilion to the concrete piers:
- A flat surface is required to place the post brackets.
- We will drill into the concrete and insert wedge anchor bolts.
Important: Do not wet-set any brackets or J-bolts into the concrete yourself. Let the installers handle this process to ensure proper alignment and stability.
