Grand Teton Timber Frame Pavilion Features
Adaptable To Various Landscapes
The natural timber frame construction of the pavilion complements a wide variety of landscapes, from wooded areas to modern, minimalist gardens. The use of natural wood allows the structure to blend harmoniously with its surroundings, creating a cohesive look that enhances the beauty of the landscape. For homes located in more rustic, wooded environments, the pavilion’s timber frame echoes the natural aesthetic.
Spacious Open-Air Design
The spacious open-air design of the Grand Teton Timber Frame Pavilion is one of its most versatile and appealing features, offering a seamless connection between the comfort of an indoor structure and the beauty of the surrounding outdoors. This design transforms the pavilion into a flexible, multi-functional space that can serve a variety of purposes, from hosting large social gatherings to providing a quiet retreat.
Exposed Timber Beams
Exposed timber beams are one of the most visually striking and defining features of the Grand Teton Timber Frame Pavilion. These beams serve both a functional and aesthetic purpose, showcasing the raw beauty and craftsmanship of the pavilion’s construction. Crafted from high-quality, large-dimension wood, the beams are left uncovered to highlight the natural grain, texture, and strength of the timber.

The Grand Teton Timber Frame Pavilion is an impressive outdoor structure that merges traditional design with contemporary utility, making it an ideal feature for any backyard or garden. Its robust timber frame construction showcases the natural beauty of wood, using exposed beams and intricate craftsmanship to create a striking, rustic aesthetic. Designed to withstand the challenges of changing weather, the pavilion’s sturdy framework ensures long-lasting durability. It can be customized to suit individual preferences, with options for various sizes, wood finishes, and roofing materials, allowing homeowners to create a personalized outdoor space that reflects their style. Grand Teton Timber Frame Pavilion Foundation Information
The foundation is a critical component of any structure, including your pavilion. Here's a guide for both small and large pavilions, depending on your setup:
For Smaller Backyard Pavilions:
- Install Footers/Piers:
- Use the provided drawings to determine pier locations and specifications.
- For Paver Patios:
- Position the top of the footers just below the bottom of the paver stones.
- Post stand-offs are recommended to keep the posts elevated (see post standoffs for details).
- For Concrete Slabs with Footers:
- Option 1: Install the tops of the footers just beneath the slab surface.
- Option 2: Install the tops of the footers level with the slab surface (note that the tops of the footers will be visible).
- For New Paver Patios:
- It's recommended to install the pavilion first and then add the pavers afterward.
For Larger Pavilions:
- Install Footers/Piers:
- Follow the provided drawings for pier locations and specifications.
- For Concrete Slabs with Footers:
- Option 1: Install the tops of the footers level with the slab surface (tops will be visible).
- Option 2: Install the tops of the footers 4" below the finished patio surface.
- Use 4" Post Stand-offs (see post standoffs for details).
- Pour the slab after the pavilion has been installed.
Installing Footers/Piers for Smaller Pavilions with Existing Paver Patios:
- Remove a section of pavers, about 24-30" in diameter, at each post location.
- Install the piers so their tops are about 1" below the paver level.
- This allows for a small sand layer to be added on top of the footer for easy paver reinstallation.
- The tops of the piers don't need to be perfectly level.
- Install post stand-offs (see post standoffs for details).
- Erect the pavilion structure.
- Reinstall the pavers, cutting and fitting them around the posts.
Anchoring the Structure to Concrete Piers:
To anchor the pavilion to the concrete piers:
- A flat surface is required to place the post brackets.
- We will drill into the concrete and insert wedge anchor bolts.
Important: Do not wet-set any brackets or J-bolts into the concrete yourself. Let the installers handle this process to ensure proper alignment and stability.
