Why Purchase A Denali Timber Frame Pavilion?
Stunning Aesthetic Appeal
The exposed heavy timber beams create a bold, rustic appearance that feels timeless and sophisticated. The natural wood grain, knots, and textures add character and warmth to any outdoor space, making the pavilion feel like an organic extension of the surrounding environment. The high-pitched rooflines, wide overhangs, and sturdy posts lend a sense of architectural grandeur to the pavilion.
Natural Integration
The pavilion’s open design encourages an unobstructed flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces. Whether you’re inside the pavilion or sitting nearby, the large, open spaces and high ceilings make it easy to feel connected to the surrounding environment. Sunlight streams through, and the natural breezes can flow freely, enhancing the experience of being outdoors.
Low Maintenance
The stains and sealants applied to the timber frame have a long lifespan, often lasting several years before needing to be reapplied. This reduces the frequency of refinishing tasks, making the pavilion relatively easy to care for. When maintenance is required, it’s typically a simple process of reapplying a protective layer rather than extensive repairs.
Denali Timber Frame Pavilion Features
Architectural Grandeur
A high-pitched roof naturally creates a more dramatic and impressive appearance. The steep angle draws the eye upward, giving the pavilion a sense of height and grandeur. This architectural style is reminiscent of traditional timber-frame designs seen in alpine lodges or classic barn structures, evoking a sense of rustic charm combined with elegance.
Mortise & Tenon Joinery
Mortise-and-tenon joinery involves cutting a hole or recess (the mortise) into one piece of wood and shaping a corresponding projecting part (the tenon) on another. These two pieces are then joined by inserting the tenon into the mortise, creating a strong, interlocking connection. This type of joinery doesn’t rely on nails or screws, making the structure more durable and visually cleaner, with fewer visible fasteners.
Decorative Knee Braces
Knee braces are diagonal supports placed between the vertical posts and horizontal beams of the pavilion. They help to distribute the weight and stress from the roof down to the posts, improving the overall stability of the structure. This is especially important for heavy timber constructions, where the roof and beams can carry significant loads. The braces ensure that the pavilion remains sturdy even in adverse weather conditions.
Timeless Craftsmanship & Outdoor Elegance
The Denali Timber Frame Pavilion is a beautifully crafted outdoor structure designed to enhance your outdoor living space with both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Built with solid timber beams and traditional craftsmanship, the Denali Pavilion combines the rustic charm of exposed wood with the strength and durability of modern construction. Its open-air design offers a versatile space perfect for outdoor dining, entertainment, or relaxation, while the high-pitched roof adds an element of grandeur and architectural elegance. Known for its sturdy timber construction and use of traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, the Denali Pavilion is built to last, capable of withstanding harsh weather conditions while maintaining its timeless beauty. The structure’s natural wood finish and customizable options, including various roof styles and stains, allow it to seamlessly blend into any landscape, from backyards and gardens to lakeside retreats and mountain properties.

Denali Timber Frame Pavilion Foundation Information
The foundation is a critical component of any structure, including your pavilion. Here's a guide for both small and large pavilions, depending on your setup:
For Smaller Backyard Pavilions:
- Install Footers/Piers:
- Use the provided drawings to determine pier locations and specifications.
- For Paver Patios:
- Position the top of the footers just below the bottom of the paver stones.
- Post stand-offs are recommended to keep the posts elevated (see post standoffs for details).
- For Concrete Slabs with Footers:
- Option 1: Install the tops of the footers just beneath the slab surface.
- Option 2: Install the tops of the footers level with the slab surface (note that the tops of the footers will be visible).
- For New Paver Patios:
- It's recommended to install the pavilion first and then add the pavers afterward.
For Larger Pavilions:
- Install Footers/Piers:
- Follow the provided drawings for pier locations and specifications.
- For Concrete Slabs with Footers:
- Option 1: Install the tops of the footers level with the slab surface (tops will be visible).
- Option 2: Install the tops of the footers 4" below the finished patio surface.
- Use 4" Post Stand-offs (see post standoffs for details).
- Pour the slab after the pavilion has been installed.
Installing Footers/Piers for Smaller Pavilions with Existing Paver Patios:
- Remove a section of pavers, about 24-30" in diameter, at each post location.
- Install the piers so their tops are about 1" below the paver level.
- This allows for a small sand layer to be added on top of the footer for easy paver reinstallation.
- The tops of the piers don't need to be perfectly level.
- Install post stand-offs (see post standoffs for details).
- Erect the pavilion structure.
- Reinstall the pavers, cutting and fitting them around the posts.
Anchoring the Structure to Concrete Piers:
To anchor the pavilion to the concrete piers:
- A flat surface is required to place the post brackets.
- We will drill into the concrete and insert wedge anchor bolts.
Important: Do not wet-set any brackets or J-bolts into the concrete yourself. Let the installers handle this process to ensure proper alignment and stability.
